The Scriptures

The Bible (Old and New Testaments) is verbally inspired by God, infallible, and the authoritative rule for faith and conduct.

The One True God

There is one true God, eternally self-existent, revealed as the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.


Scripture context: Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10-11; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22.

The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ

Jesus is fully God and fully human; His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, substitutionary death, resurrection, ascension, and future return affirm His deity.

Scripture context: Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Hebrews 4:15; Acts 2:22-24; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4.

The Fall of Man

Humanity was created good but fell through sin, incurring physical and spiritual death (separation from God).

Scripture context: Genesis 1:26-31; 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-19.

The Salvation of Man


Salvation is by grace through faith in Christ’s atoning death and resurrection; it requires repentance and faith (a cardinal doctrine).


Scripture context: John 3:3-5; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9.

The Ordinances of the Church

Believer’s water baptism by immersion and Holy Communion as symbols of Christ’s work.

Scripture context: Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26.

The Baptism in the Holy Spirit

A distinct experience after salvation, evidenced initially by speaking in tongues, empowering for service (a cardinal doctrine).

Scripture context: Acts 1:8; 2:1-4; 10:44-46; 19:6.

The Initial Physical Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit

Speaking in other tongues is the initial outward sign of Spirit baptism.

Scripture context: Acts 2:4; 10:46; 19:6.

Sanctification

Believers are called to progressive holiness through the Spirit’s work.

Scripture context: Romans 6:1-14; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 12:14.

The Church and Its Mission

The Church is the Body of Christ, called to evangelize, worship, disciple, and show compassion.


Scripture context: Ephesians 1:22-23; Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15-16.

The Ministry


A divinely called and ordained ministry serves the Church (apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers).

Scripture context: Ephesians 4:11-16; 1 Corinthians 12:28.

Divine Healing


Healing is provided in Christ’s atonement and available through prayer and faith (a cardinal doctrine).

Scripture context: Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17; James 5:14-16.

The Blessed Hope

The rapture of the Church at Christ’s pre-millennial return (a cardinal doctrine)


Scripture context: 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Titus 2:13.

The Millennial Reign of Jesus
Christ will return to reign on earth for 1,000 years.


Scripture context: Revelation 20:1-6; Zechariah 14:5.

The Final Judgment

There will be a resurrection of the dead: the righteous to eternal life, the wicked to eternal punishment.


Scripture context: Revelation 20:11-15; Matthew 25:46.

The New Heavens and the New Earth

God will create a new heaven and earth where the redeemed dwell eternally with Him.
